A virtual event on Geospatial for sustainable agriculture and urban development in Africa is organized on September 15th 2022 to share knowledge and experience on using geospatial for sustainable agriculture and urban development. It is organized by the Geospatial Unit of Land and Water Division (NSL) at FAO, the Sahel and West African Club; GeoPolis Institute/AfricaPolis, UN-Habitat, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and WorldPop at University of Southampton.

This webinar aims at sharing experiences and strengthening collaboration on the use of geospatial information and resources for sustainable urban environments, agriculture and food security. It will contribute to raise awareness on the potential of geospatial information for the attainment of sustainable urban and agricultural development.

During the webinar, technical discussions will be focused on the use of geosaptial, techinical challenges and opportunities at municipality, national, and regional level. The webinar also aims to present case studies of geospatial indicators at different levels including in the framework of Sustainable Development Goals.
