In line with its 2030 Strategy for sustainable fisheries and aquaculture in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea and guided by the Blue Transformation vision, the GFCM aims to support countries in the region to enhance the sustainability of their aquaculture sectors.
As such, the GFCM has prepared and adopted sets of guidelines to address the governance, environmental, economic and social aspects that could influence the sustainability of aquaculture in the region. By recommending practical actions to stakeholders, these guidelines aim to help unlock the potential for sustainable aquaculture development and provide decision-makers with a useful tool for policy development.
