ABSTRACT

The third steering committee meeting of the MedSea4Fish programme of the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM) was held in FAO headquarters, Rome, Italy, on 23 June 2025. The meeting was attended by 9 MedSea4Fish national focal points (Albania, Egypt, DG Mare, Greece, Malta, Lebanon, Morocco, Spain, Tunisia) and the GFCM Secretariat. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Othman Jarboui, MedSea4Fish Coordinator. The main objectives of the meeting were to review the progress and achievements of the first MedSea4Fish biennium (2023–2024); discuss challenges encountered and lessons learned; launch the second biennium of the programme (2025–2026); address operational and administrative matters; and reflect on how to better use data collected to inform scientific advice and improve programme implementation.
