GFOI Plenary 2023: Agenda

Theme: The role of forest information in addressing climate change

Tuesday 9 May 2023 – Open Plenary

On Day 1 we will hear from countries who are already operating National Forest Monitoring Systems (NFMS) and associated emissions Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) procedures and discussing how these can serve as practical examples for other countries to learn from and draw inspiration. We will also be getting an update on the work of GFOI’s four components and how the international community is supporting countries to implement these systems. GFOI’s four components are (i) capacity building, (ii) data, (iii) methods and guidance and (iv) R&D.
