GLOSOLAN Terminology

One of the most effective way in which GLOSOLAN is supporting soil laboratories in improving their analytical performance is providing protocols and guidelines covering different topics related to soil analysis.

All GLOSOLAN publications are produced thanks to the voluntary support of the network members and are made available online free of charge. Despite most of the GLOSOLAN material targets a technical audience, the language used is simple and the texts are easy to understand, facilitating the access to laboratories operating in non-English speaking countries (even if GLOSOLAN is still trying to translate all its publications in all UN official languages).

However, some terms used in GLOSOLAN website or in the network publications could be unclear or lead to misinterpretation. For this reason, GLOSOLAN developed an online database to define all the key-words related to soil analysis mentioned in the network documents and trainings. GLOSOLAN Terminology reports also the reference for each definition provided. GLOSOLAN wishes to thank the International Standard Organization (ISO) and the other sources cited in the references for allowing it to refer to their glossaries.
