In the framework of the 2023 Global Soil Biodiversity Conference, the FAO’s Global Soil Partnership presented the work of NETSOB and the plans for GLOSOB to academia, policymakers, land users and private sector aiming to attract interested parties to contribute to the sustainable use and management of soil biodiversity.

The NETSOB launch defined its working groups and governance, as well as analyzed the roadmap and key activities to contribute to strengthening and improving knowledge on soil biodiversity at all levels.

The International Network on Soil Biodiversity (NETSOB) was established in December 2021 to promote the sustainable use and conservation of soil biodiversity and and to bring experts in this field and existing initiatives together to become the critical mass that contributes to the implementation of the Global Soil Biodiversity Observatory (GLOSOB).
