The Regional Soil partnerships will convene regional workshops during the International Year of Soils. The objective of those regional consultation workshops is to consolidate the partnerships by bringing together the newly appointed Focal Points to the GSP.

Friday 5th December 2014, soils were celebrated worldwide in more than 50 countries.

The launch of the International Year of Soils took place during the celebration of the first official UN World Soil Day 2014.

The Land Development Department, the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Soil and Fertilizer Society of Thailand, Soil and Water Conservation Society of Thailand and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) are joining hands organizing “World Soil Day" in Thailand from 3 to 5 December 2014.

The WSD team is gradually preparing new campaign tools in different languages.
