JOIN US on DECEMBER 10 at COP28
On the 10th of December, 18:00–19:00 (UTC+4) the #COP28’s Food Systems Pavilion will host a session Promoting the declaration of 2028 as the “Year of Saline Agriculture”, showcasing the transformative power of saline agriculture towards developing more climate-resilient, sustainable farming systems and healthy ecosystems in salt-affected areas.
The objective of the session is to raise awareness on the importance and benefits of saline agriculture; and to provide evidence to support investment and policy development for saline agriculture in the context of climate change. The session consists of a panel discussion and a movie.
This session was designed in collaboration between FAO (INSAS and WASAG's Saline Agriculture Working Group) and the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, Wageningen University & Research (WUR), International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA), Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the Netherlands Water Partnership and the Netherlands Food Partnership.
