From May to June 2026, the Soils for Nutrition (S4N) project, funded by Germany´s Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity (BMELH), made significant progress in Colombia. A national workshop in Bogotá and two intensive five-day training sessions in the southeast departments of Meta and Casanare, brought together institutions, trainers, Soil Doctors, and farmers to build a shared vision for healthier soils and more diverse diets.

Moscow. PhosAgro, Russia's leading phosphate-based fertilizer producer, in collaboration with AgroGard, an agricultural holding company in Russia, and the Faculty of Soil Science at Lomonosov Moscow State University, is advancing the implementation of the Recarbonization of Global Agricultural Soils (RECSOIL) initiative in Russia. With the technical support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) the second scientific and practical workshop were held to ensure a harmonized implementation.

The Recarbonization of Global Agricultural Soils (RECSOIL) pilot project gathers stakeholders across the agrifood system in Costa Rica to advance a pioneering soil-based Payment for Ecosystem Services (PES).

Bangkok, Thailand - June 22-27, 2026. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and its Global Soil Partnership (GSP), in collaboration with the Land Development Department of Thailand, recently convened the AFACI Soil+ International Workshop on Nutrient Budget, Erosion & Soil Health. Held in-person in Bangkok, the event brought together approximately 30 participants, comprising representatives from 13 Asian Food and Agriculture Cooperation Initiative (AFACI) member countries. The project is funded by Korea’s Rural Development Administration (RDA) through AFACI, which serves as the RDA’s regional cooperation mechanism and is responsible for donor coordination and day-to-day communication.
