Lambert Wilson is one of France’s best-known actors. He has appeared in over 100 films and worked with such directors as Fred Zinnemann, Jacques Demy, Andrzej Wajda and Alain Resnais. In the theatre Wilson has worked with Jean-Louis Barrault, Harold Pinter and Stephen Sondheim – and has himself directed critically acclaimed stage productions. Lambert is perhaps internationally best known for his work in Xavier Beauvois’ Of Gods and Men, his portrayal of l’Abbé Pierre in Denis Amar’s Hiver 54 and for the role of The Merovingian in Matrix Reloaded, Matrix Revolutions, and Matrix Resurrections. Recent work includes Hélène Fillières’ Volontaire, Gabriel Le Bomin’s De Gaulle, Paul Verhoeven’s Benedetta and Anthony Fabian’s Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris.
For FAO, Lambert Wilson fronted the Zero Hunger global campaign, presented the curtain-raiser for the Intergovernmental Conference on Marine Biodiversity of Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction in 2017, and sat numerous broadcast and print interviews with FAO’s Director of the Office of Emergencies and Resilience to raise awareness of how climate change is affecting how the world eats. Wilson’s particular zone of interest is environmental conservation.
