New Contract Farming Resource Centre: A platform for learning resource and inclusive agrifood partnerships
Managed by Investments for Sustainable Markets, Agribusiness, and Rural Transformation pillar (i-SMART) of Agrifood Economics and Policy Division (ESA), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has officially launched its Contract Farming Resource Centre (CFRC), a dynamic online platform designed to empower farmers, sourcing private companies, policymakers, researchers, and development practitioners with accessible, up-to-date knowledge and tools on contract farming.
The FAO Contract Farming Resource Centre (CFRC) offers:
• An extensive library of publications and case studies
• Practical tools, learning resources on contracts, and checklists
• Online training modules and FAQs about contract farming
• News and updates on contract farming related events
By consolidating knowledge, practical tools, and real-world experiences, the FAO CFRC helps smallholders understand contract farming, supports agribusinesses in designing fair agreements, and provides policymakers with legal and policy resources.
