FAO and Senegal collaborate to strengthen national capacity in activity data collection, greenhouse gas emissions assessment and reporting from the livestock sector.

FAO convened the first technical consultation meeting on compliant and voluntary carbon markets in the livestock sector in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 28 to 30 October 2025. 

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in collaboration with the Ministry of National Food Security and Research and Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, is organizing a national stakeholder engagement workshop to bring together key stakeholders from the livestock sector and environment, to foster collaboration and share knowledge on climate-smart livestock practices.
