EU FLEGT Week: Stakeholders discuss progress and look to the future

Some 300 stakeholders - from European Union representatives to governments, civil society, private sector, NGOs and experts ̶ gathered at the annual FLEGT week in Brussels last month to discuss progress on key topics such as forest governance, private sector engagement, drivers of deforestation and tracking timber legality. Participants contributed to setting new targets for the coming years, including the creation of synergies between FLEGT and other initiatives, and encouraging the private sector to participate in the legal and sustainable timber trade. More information regarding documents and presentations given at the event, together with a photo gallery can be accessed following the link to the event web page.
