Policies collected in the FAPDA database serve as basis for analytical products developed by the FAO Policy Intelligence Branch, held in the FAO Agrifood Economics Division (ESA), which cover several sectors and types of policies, as well national, regional, and global levels.

Policy responses to COVID-19 crisis in Near East and North Africa – keeping food and agricultural systems alive

This report does an extensive review and analysis of policy decisions made by 19 governments in the Near East and North Africa region in response to the COVID-19 crisis, from March 2020 to May 2020. The broad range of policy decisions were reviewed based on the FAPDA database, complemented by information on disruptions of food and agriculture systems and related policy responses provided by regional and country offices.

Social assistance and productive support policies implementation in rural areas

This study contributes to filling these gaps by documenting and analysing recent trends in social assistance programme implementation at global and regional levels, and identifying the programmes that are fully or partially designed to focus on rural areas.

Food and agriculture policy decisions - Trends, emerging issues and policy alignments since the 2007/08 food security crisis

The report reviews a broad range of food security and agricultural development policy decisions implemented over the period 2007 to 2012 in more than 70 countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.

The purpose of this paper is to examine whether the policy swings observed in 2008 were confirmed in the following years, by collecting and analysing information on decisions of both short and long-term food and agriculture policies. 

Country Responses to the Food Security Crisis: Nature and Preliminary Implications on the Policies Pursued

The objective of this paper is to examine the short-term measures adopted by some 81 countries from Asia, Africa and Latin America and the Caribbean and assess their implications for food security and poverty alleviation.
