Webinar on mountain value chains

MOVING is organizing a European Multi-Actor Platform (EU MAP) webinar on 16 December 2021, from 10:00 to 12:00 (CET). By participating in the webinar, participants will be able to find out more about MOVING project results and the EU MAP, and get to know some of the specific traditional or emerging value chains working on innovation and climate change resilience in the MOVING project.

Youth network organizes group hike in Cameroon

Yaoundé Cameroon together with the African Network for the Protection and Education in the Environment are organizing a mountain hike, to be held on 11 December. The hike will be followed by a discussion on the importance of preserving mountains.

CEE Himalaya dedicates December to mountain ecosystems

The Centre for Environment Education (CEE) has initiated the CEE Academy, in which they are running short-term certificate courses on ecosystem restoration. December is devoted to mountain ecosystems. They will conduct a session on 11 December observing International Mountain Day.

Climate change and forced migration in mountain areas

Adaptation at Altitude and the Inter-Parliamentary Union have organized a webinar on "Climate change and forced migration in mountain areas: What are the solutions?" in observation of International Mountain Day. The webinar will discuss migration and internal displacement due to climate change in mountain areas, and explore a variety of solutions that increase mountain communities' resilience and capacity to adapt, by addressing some of the root causes of climate migration.

Malawi commemorates International Mountain Day

Malawi will join the global community in commemorating International Mountain Day on 11 December, in Zomba Mounatin City. The Malawi Government through the Ministries of Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources, Tourism, Culture and Wildlife has developed a task force to organize the event. Activities will include press briefings, tree planting, group hikes and more.
