FAO in Kenya
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) representation in Kenya was established in 1977. FAO's mission is to work with the Government of Kenya to help build a food-secure country, free of hunger and malnutrition, where food and agriculture contribute to improving the living standards of all, especially the poorest, in an economically, socially and environmentally sustainable manner.
FAO's activities are fully integrated into the Government's medium and long-term development strategies, the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP), and the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) for Kenya. This support to the government is envisioned the Country Programming Framework (CPF) 2022 -2026.
