General Situation during August 2025 Forecast for September 2025

The locust control campaign was completed in all Caucasus and Central Asia (CCA) countries, the situation being thus calm for all species, in all areas, at the end of the reporting period. Moroccan locust (DMA) lifecycle was completed in Caucasus while Italian locust (CIT) and Asian migratory locust (LMI) natural lifecycles started to come to an end; the die off will continue in September in remaining areas. Treatments were conducted in four countries in August, covering 20  494  hectares (ha). With this, the total area treated in CCA during the 2025 campaign reached 3 856 752 ha, which is about 10% lower than the previous year (4 295 137 ha). In September, countries will continue campaign analyses and a few of them will start the autumn egg-pod surveys.
