Report on the implementation of the United Nations Decade of Family Farming (2019–2028)

23/09/2021

In December 2017, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed the UN Decade of Family Farming 2019-2028 (UNDFF) to serve as a framework for developing public policies and investments to support family farming worldwide.

The first Report on the implementation of the UNDFF (2019–2028) shows achievements against expected results in 2019 – 2020. The document reflects the key developments and policy processes at international, regional and country levels with an assessment of the implementation against the indicators identified in the Global Action Plan of the UNDFF, describes the contributions to the achievement of the SDGs and provides recommendations to orient the implementation in the following biennium.

The report was developed by the joint FAO – IFAD Secretariat, under  the guidance of  the International Steering Committee of the UNDFF. It was based in an extensive and inclusive consultation conducted in February-April 2021 with the participation of 105 actors  from 51 countries.

The presentation of the report to UNGA will take place in the Second Committee in October 2021.
