Join us for the Livestock Week 2025
FAO Global Conference on Sustainable Livestock Transformation & Global Forum for Animal Feed and Feed Regulators - 29 September – 3 October 2025, Rome, Italy
Highlighting the importance of livestock in global agrifood systems, FAO's Animal Production and Health Division will host Livestock Week 2025 in Rome, Italy, from 29 September to 3 October 2025. The week will feature two major events: the second Global Conference on Sustainable Livestock Transformation (29 September – 1 October) and the Global Forum for Animal Feed and Feed Regulators (2 – 3 October).
The Global Conference on Sustainable Livestock Transformation will bring together FAO Members, policymakers, private sector, producer organizations, researchers, NGOs, civil society, and development agencies to advance the agenda for sustainable livestock. Building on the first conference held in 2023 and subsequent regional forums, this year’s edition will focus on the theme Fostering change, scaling innovations, and driving solutions. The event will emphasize commitments and concrete actions, highlight successful innovations and good practices, and explore key drivers for large-scale transformation.
Following the conference, the Global Forum for Animal Feed and Feed Regulators, organized with the International Feed Industry Federation (IFIF), will convene feed regulators, scientists, FAO Members, producer organizations, civil society, the private sector, and international financial institutions. The forum will address innovative approaches to improving the availability of sustainable, safe, and high-quality feed as a foundation for animal health, welfare, and food safety and a sustainable livestock sector. A key feature will be the International Feed Regulators Meeting, providing a platform for public-private dialogue on international standards and policies, challenges, and opportunities for innovation.
The forum will also consider the identification of FAO Reference Centres for Animal Feed.
