Pre-Summit meeting to prepare for the Third Global Parliamentary Summit against Hunger and Malnutrition
Rome, FAO Headquarters, 10 - 11 November 2025

In preparation for the Third Global Parliamentary Summit against Hunger and Malnutrition, scheduled for 2026, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) will convene a Pre-Summit meeting.
With the wider aim of strengthening knowledge and facilitating political dialogue on the role of parliamentarians in driving food security, nutrition and sustainable agrifood systems, this Pre-Summit meeting represents a crucial moment to identify priority topics, ensure political commitment, and shape the agenda for the Third Summit with leaders of key parliamentarian networks.
The meeting will be the opportunity to:
- Analyze and discuss the context and key trends related to food security and nutrition across regions, with a focus on legislative priorities to foster collaborative solutions.
- Address strategic points to shape the agenda for the Third Summit through dialogue and insights on working documents.
To ensure broad representation, delegates from regional parliamentary bodies and parliamentary associations worldwide will be invited and will form a core group that will collaborate closely to achieve the Pre-Summit’s goals. High-level and technical officials from FAO, along with representatives from other UN agencies, potential partners, and relevant parliamentary institutions will also be invited, to foster the exchange of ideas.
