As of the start of the New Year, the Farmers’ Market will be back at FAO’s premises – Atrium - on January 29th  from 12.00- 16.00 hours.

All of the products are locally sourced from the surrounding region of Rome.

The farmers will offer seasonal fresh products to FAO employees, delegates, and visitors that enter the FAO headquarters on January 29th,such as mushrooms (champignon, pioppino, cardoncello, trifolate mix, pleurotus), broccoletti of Anguillara, yellow and red potatoes, tufts carrots, red and white turnips, various types of chard, leek, purple cauliflower, pumpkin, snails, and several cosmetic products made with snail slime.

Overweight and obesity rates around the world continue to grow mainly due to the over consumption of highly processed foods. With this initiative, FAO aims to support local farmers and food producers who are crucial to promote sustainable, healthy diets.
