Food is Medicine: North American Indigenous Chefs & Youth Leading the Way

Chef Nephi Craig of the White Mountain Apache Nation and Dineh Nation is the Founder of the Native American Culinary Association, Coordinator & Executive Chef at Rainbow Treatment Center & Café Gozhóó, and is featured in the 2020 documentary film, Gather.

During this webinar, Indigenous youth from across North America will join Chef Craig to discuss the importance of food as medicine for personal and collective health through youth action, cooking and land tending. Chef Craig will present his work as a leader acting locally and thinking globally to revitalize Indigenous Peoples’ health, communities, and food systems by and for Native Americans.

In a roundtable discussion with Chef Craig, Indigenous youth will share initiatives they are leading in their communities and the messages they would like to share during the World Food Forum Global Launch. We hope you will join us in a rich discussion!
