10th Anniversary of the PSMA

On 7 September 2026, under the patronage of the FAO Director-General, high-level representatives from the seven FAO regions are gathering to celebrate the 10 years since the entry into force of the PSMA.

The PSMA entered into force on 5 June 2016 and represents a landmark achievement of the FAO Committee on Fisheries (COFI). This high-level event provides an opportunity to reflect on the PSMA's key milestones and impacts, whilst reaffirming collective commitment to strengthening its implementation and effectiveness in supporting the long-term conservation and sustainable use of living marine resources and marine ecosystems.
