This World Food Day, FAO releases a new photobook — Picturing Progress: Four Betters in Focus — a powerful visual narrative that captures eight decades of knowledge, collaboration and action towards a better future for everyone. 

Through compelling imagery, this photobook chronicles FAO’s multifaceted work: in the field, in laboratories, in markets and across ministries. With women in cooperatives. With youth driving digital innovation. With Indigenous Peoples safeguarding ancestral knowledge. With countries striving to improve how they feed and nourish their people. 

Guided by the four betters — better production, better nutrition, better environment, and better life — each chapter invites readers into a distinct dimension of FAO’s mission: transforming agrifood systems, leaving no one behind. 

Available in English, and Italian, the photobook will be released both online (pdf and flipbook) and in hardcover. It is forthcoming in Chinese.
