Under the leadership of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the G20 pre-launched the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty in a moving ceremony held in Rio de Janeiro on July 24th.

Chef El Nagar, believing that food security is a fundamental human right deserving of constitutional protection, mobilized civil society to create a groundbreaking Manifesto. This effort successfully embedded the right to food in the Canton of Geneva's constitution, the first in Europe. Undaunted, Chef El Nagar now aims higher, advocating for the inclusion of the right to food in the European Union Constitution.
