Objective / Goal This research aims to quantify the household-level economic losses in agricultural production value, assets and household income resulting from conflict-related shocks, namely military activity, disruption in water supply and induced-livestock mortality.  Additionally, this study presents the poverty implications of agricultural income loss, based on different types of livelihoods.
Activities This study quantifies the immediate impacts of the conflict on Gaza’s agricultural sector during its first three months, focusing on the impact of bombing, disruption of irrigation systems, and livestock losses. Combining microdata with satellite imagery, this study estimates agricultural production value losses, household income reductions, and their implications for poverty rates among farming households. Additionally, it assesses the broader socioeconomic consequences, highlighting the critical role of agriculture in food security and livelihoods.
Impact This research aims to inform policy interventions to support recovery and resilience in conflict-affected agricultural communities.
