Mandate, main activities of the institution and competencies
- Mission statement: The Sustainable management of Heritage Forest Wildlife. The aim is to provide a service in a simple, ethical, efficient and transparent manner. All this contributes to the growth of the country promoting a green economy low in carbon. Thus, SERFOR aspires to be an institution with world class standards in sustainable development
- Main activities: The National Forestry and Wildlife Authority (SERFOR) is a specialized technical agency, responsible for articulating with other actors and institutions of the Peruvian State and civil society to meet the National Policy and Law of Forestry and Wildlife

- Provision / supply expertise / knowledge exchange to other countries or institutions: Technical assistance and exchange of experiences in forest inventories
- Type of contribution (material / services / training to other countries or institutions): The National Forest Service and Wildlife (SERFOR) is responsible for the national forest inventory (INF), whose planning and organization began in July 2011 and to gather information in the field in 2013. To achieve the objectives for the different information needs of INF, a total of 1,876 inventory plots distributed in the 5 regions
