The International Conference on Agricultural Statistics (ICAS) is a premier global forum dedicated to fostering and leveraging best practices, research, and innovation to meet the evolving needs of agricultural statistics. ICAS brings together producers and users of agricultural data, including national statistical offices, international agencies, academics, and private-sector actors, to share operational successes and explore the latest methodological developments.

About ICAS

The International Conference on Agriculture Statistics (ICAS) is a series of conferences, which started in 1998 based on the overarching need for agricultural data worldwide. ICAS is held every three years under the auspices of the Committee on Agricultural Statistics of the International Statistical Institute (ISI) to address issues of agricultural statistics (information/data) development.

Discussions have focused on providing information to monitor poverty related development programmes, particularly in low income countries.

Consensus was built on developing national statistical systems that can meet the monitoring and evaluation requirements of development frameworks, such as Poverty Reduction Strategy Papers (PRSP) and the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
