National workshop on FIES data analysis in Kigali (Rwanda)
Kigali (Rwanda), 11/12/2024 - 12/12/2024
FAO is delivering a training involving Government officers and FAO food security analysts on Food Insecurity Experience Scale (FIES) in Kigali (Rwanda) from December 11 to December 12, 2024.
As the custodian agency for SDG indicator 2.1.2, FAO supports the efforts of the countries in monitoring target 2.1 “by 2030 end hunger and ensure access by all people, in particular the poor and people in vulnerable situations including infants, to safe, nutritious and sufficient food all year round”. The workshop aims to provide technical support to national institutions monitoring food insecurity in Rwanda to apply the statistical methods behind indicator 2.1.2 and derive estimates based on the data collected through the 2018 Comprehensive Food Security and Vulnerability Assessment.
Expected Outcomes:
- National institutions strengthen their capacities to analyse Food Insecurity Experience Scale (FIES) data.
- The estimates of SDG 2.1.2 are revised using FIES data collected by national institutions.
Participants :
20 participants from the National Institute of Statistics Rwanda (NISR), the Ministry of Agriculture, and the World Food Programme.
