This event presents FAO’s flagship report on The State of Food and Agriculture 2025, titled "Addressing land degradation across landholding scales” this event highlights mounting pressures from land degradation, deforestation, and unsustainable management. It presents new evidence on how land degradation increasingly threatens agricultural productivity and food security, with particular attention to how challenges and solutions differ across farm sizes, land conditions and socioeconomic factors. The report calls for strengthened land governance and tailored policies to align private and public incentives as well as local and global actions to address land degradation and restore productivity, safeguarding the future of our agrifood systems.
