Following the successful side session on Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cubense Tropical Race 4 (TR4) at CPM-18 in 2024, this knowledge-sharing session will highlight innovative technology, research and projects to prevent the entry and manage the spread of Fusarium TR4. The session is part of the IPPC Secretariat’s coordination of Fusarium TR4 activities and will foster awareness and collaboration in the global fight against the world’s biggest threat to banana production.
There will be presentations on the latest research about banana varieties resistant to Fusarium TR4, innovative capacity development tools such as virtual reality simulation rooms, and the role of public-private partnerships in managing high-risk pests such as Fusarium TR4.
