This Junior World Food Day, students from different countries and cultures unite to call for water action for food through song and dance in the multilingual music video "Water is Food, Water is Life".
Launched on the occasion of the first edition of Junior World Food Day in 2021, and building on the success of the 2022 edition, the Junior WFD music video has become an integral part of FAO's approach to raising awareness among youth. Producers of the music video Garry McCarthy and Sean Downey, from Kabin Studio in Cork, Ireland, write music and creative song lyrics as a way to develop young people's confidence, raise awareness and call attention to important topics.
This year, Kabin Studio teamed up with Piccolo Orchestra di Tor Pignattara, SwanIGuess, Centro Russo di Scienza e Cultura, Scuola Zhong Hua, Comune di Fiumicino, Riserva Naturale Valle dell'Aniene, RomaNatura, Associazione "Insieme per l'Aniene APS", Orti Orbani "Valle dell'Aniene", Parco Naturale Regionale Bracciano - Martignano, and Stabilimento Viva Sporting, to create this action-filled song.
Students, from diverse backgrounds got together to sing and participate in the video. Through music, young people from around the world are learning to become change-makers and advocates for a more sustainable world in which all people can enjoy water.
