YALTA Hybrid Regional Summit: “Accelerating Youth Driven Agroecological Businesses for Sustainable Food Systems” from 25 to 26 October 2022 at Silver Springs Hotel (Bugolobi) in Kampala, Uganda

Netherlands Food Partnership (NFP) in collaboration with Participatory Ecological Land Use Management (PELUM) Uganda would like to invite you to the YALTA Regional Summit under the theme; “Accelerating Youth Driven Agroecological Businesses for Sustainable Food Systems”. The Summit is scheduled to take place on 25th – 26th October 2022 at Silver Springs Hotel (Bugolobi) in Kampala – Uganda and Online starting at 9:00 am EAT. 

The Summit will bring together young entrepreneurs, Agroecology, and Business professionals from Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Rwanda, and beyond to talk about Accelerating Youth driven Agroecological Businesses for sustainable food systems as well as the results and lessons learned from the Youth in Agroecology and Business Learning Track Africa, (YALTA) Initiative and instigate discussions on how these can be replicated and scaled up. The event is expected to 

  • Celebrate successes and exchange insights and lessons learned in each country (Uganda, Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Kenya) from the Youth track as well as Agroecology networks initiatives and national coalitions working on issues for change;
  • Empower youths to drive regional policy processes, knowledge exchange, and showcasing youth-led Agroecological businesses;
  • Identify strategies to sustain, replicate and scale up innovative models and approaches;
  • Network and facilitate a regional platform for interaction between youth; Agroecology stakeholders, policymakers, service providers, and investors.
