Conservation agriculture for climate change mitigation11 - 27 September, 2012 Conservation agriculture is as an approach to farming that seeks to increase food security, alleviate poverty, conserve biodiversity and safeguard ecosystem services. Conservation agriculture practices can contribute to making agricultural systems more resilient to climate change. In many cases, conservation agriculture has been proven to reduce the farming systems’ greenhouse gas emissions and enhance its role as carbon sinks.
