    This year’s World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum was held on the 19-23rd of March 2018 in Geneva, Switzerland under the theme “ Leveraging ICTs to Build Information and Knowledge Societies for Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ”.     The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has announced the 90 finalists of the WSIS Prizes 2018 contests (also known as WSIS Champions). This year the competition had a record-breaking 492 nominated projects and more than 1 million votes were cast online.
