AI Surveillance

AI surveillance plans under EPT-2 project (including laboratory and filed support) was designed in collaboration with GOVS and NLQP to integrate the active and targeted surveillance activities to address all circulating AI sub-types (H5N1, H5N8 and H9N2) at risk-based approach while maintaining early warning for virus spillover and incursion of other subtypes that are reported in other countries (H7N9, H5N6 and H5N5..etc), whereas some of the other surveillance methods are supported by training and logistics for sampling and sample transportation whenever required.

Implemented

Addressed value chain nodes:

  • LBMs
  • Farms and households at migratory bird areas
  • high risk farms (nursery and duck)
  • Long cycle farms (layer and breeders)
  • small scale broiler farms (pre-movement test)

Planned

  • Long cycle farms (layer and breeders)
  • small scale broiler farms (pre-movement test)

Review of the outputs and objectives of the surveillance will take place after 30 Sep 2018 to enable planning of next phases of AI surveillance
