This is a submission from the Development Law Service of FAO.
We propose to strengthen the role of law in the future Voluntary Guidelines and are pleased to attach detailed suggestions, to, amongst other:
-strengthen language about legislation;
- more clearly propose both non-discriminatory legal provisions and special temporary measures until such time that de facto equality has been achieved;
- consider issues around designation of "head of household".
We attach our detailed comments in a separate document and as comment so the draft VGs.
