This project was designed to foster the creation of a food-secure environment that would improve access to food and increase local knowledge of nutrition primarily to women and children. The overall objectives of the project were to build capacities, to improve and increase food production and income generating activities, to raise awareness of health and nutrition, and to create a monitoring and evaluation system to track the results of project interventions. 2 pp.

This paper highlights the effective use of early warning information and flexible finance mechanisms that can mitigate or even prevent humanitarian disasters. Women and children are 14 times more likely than men to experience displacement or die during a disaster. Acting on early warning information has been shown to curb projected increases in food insecurity, malnutrition and rural poverty. 32 pp.

This brochure spotlights the project that focused on increasing the quality and variety of dairy products being processed by women-dominated milk producer groups. The project aimed to increase the income of rural women by creating jobs along the dairy value chain. Targeting the rural economy in this manner is important in Mongolia because the processing of dairy products is typically undertaken by women. 11 pp.
