EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The data preparation meeting for eastern and central Mediterranean deep-water red shrimp stocks was held in Rome in hybrid modality from 21 to 22 November 2022. The main objective of this meeting was to provide a platform to review, discuss and analyse input data for the assessment of central and eastern Mediterranean stocks of giant red shrimp (Aristaeomorpha foliacea) and blue and red shrimp (Aristeus antennatus) in advance of the GFCM Working Group on Stock Assessment of Demersal Species (WGSAD) to be held in December 2022. Information on eight stocks was presented and discussed: giant red shrimp and blue and red shrimp in geographical subareas (GSAs) 12 to 16, 18 to 20, 21w and 26 as well as giant red shrimp in GSAs 24 and 25.
