A big welcome from the scientists aboard the second leg of the Nansen’s Trans-Indian Ocean Survey trip.
This second leg departed from Port Louis, Mauritius on 18 June 2015 and will arrive in Durban, South Africa on 6 August 2015.
Once again, we have a lot of expertise amongst this international crew (18 scientists and the ship’s crew from 8 different countries) on this survey voyage, and we’re happy to answer your questions. Write to us and we’ll answer your queries on this site.

Jean Jacques Be of Madagascar works for the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources.
Zo Tsihoarana Rasoloarijao is at the University of Toliara, Madagascar
Sundy Ramah is from Mauritius. He is a Marine Science Technical Officer, working at the Albion Fisheries Research Centre.
Kamlesh Ramdhony is from Mauritius. He is an Associate Research Scientist working at the Mauritius Oceanographic Institute.
Calvin Gerry is from the Seychelles. He works for the Seychelles Fishing Authority, in Victoria.
Patroba Patrick Matiku is from Tanzania. He works for the Tanzania Fisheries Research Institute.
Karen Fosse Sivertsen is Norwegian. She is a graduate student of the University of Bergen, Norway.
Lindsay Beazley is Canadian. She works at the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, Canada.
Javier Murillo is Canadian. He works at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography.
Asma Damon is from South Africa. She is at the University of the Western Cape.
Bradley Blows is South African. He works for OceanAfrica.
Magne Olsen is Norwegian. He is the Head Engineer for the Institute of Marine Research.
Bjørn Serigstad is Norwegian. He works at Norway’s Institute of Marine Research, and is the Cruise Leader.
