Bread and Butter Pudding

Ingredients
milk: 1 3/4 29
bread: 4
egg, chicken: 2
sugar: 1 27
nutmeg: 1/8 31
raisins, sultanas: 1/3 29

Cooking Time (minutes): quick (30 minutes or less)
Steps
1. Cut bread into strips and arrange, buttered side up, in layers in an ovenproof dish.
2. Sprinkle each layer with some currants and sugar.
3. Heat milk, but do not allow it to boil.
4. Whisk eggs lightly and pour warm milk onto them, stirring all the time. Strain mixture over the bread and sprinkle some nutmeg on top. Allow to stand for 15 minutes.
5. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 30-40 minutes until set and lightly browned.
