Peer to Peer exchange on agrometeorological services: GCF proposal development in Cambodia and Lao PDR
Today a meeting was organized by the Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific of FAO to bring together key institutions involved in the collection, interpretation and dissemination for agrometeorological information, alerts and advisories from two countries (Cambodia and Laos) to share experiences, challenges and future prospects. The meeting allowed the Agency of Hydrometeorology, the Ministry of Agriculture and other stakeholders to present their current capacities, future objectives as well as relevant gaps and needs to strengthen agrometeorological services. National experts from Laos shared their experiences of developing such a system through the SAMIS project and some of the key lessons learned over the last years. The meeting has been the first of a series of meetings under the framework of the PEARL GCF project in Cambodia.
