Strengthening Agro-climatic Monitoring and Information System (SAMIS)

Training on use of LaCSA app for the collection of agronomic data

11/08/2021

The Department of Agricultural Land Management (DALaM), with the support of the FAO/GEF project Strengthening Agro-climatic Monitoring and Information System (SAMIS), has recently gained access to the LaCSA, that is available at the URL www.lacsa.net and as Android and Apple application

This means that DALAM can access to the system and can modify internal data, and modify the agronomical data into it. This is important because it enables DALAM do undertake corrections to the data in case of errors. Also, DALAM is now capable to monitor the inputting of data at local level. For example, if one local level entity does not upload the data in time, the DALAM can authomatically check on screen, and realistically take the necessary measured to correct this.

Before this meeting, the involvement of District Offices to the agronomical data collection was ongoing for DONRE only, while now capacities have been created to ensure this will be done by DAFO too.

The training, held by Dr Kim Kwuang-Hyung, involved a total of 11 DALAM staff.
