I am having problems submitting my photo

If you are having problems submitting your photo, you can contact us at IDF@fao.org.

Can I submit more than one photo?

Yes, each participant can submit up to 3 entries.

Can I e-mail my submissions directly to FAO?

No, please use the online submission form.

I already used my photo to enter a different contest but it didn’t win a prize, can I send it to this contest?

Yes, as long as it has not won any prizes, it is eligible.

I understand that previously published works will not be accepted, but what about pictures that have appeared on the web?

You can submit works that have previously been uploaded to personal albums online or that have been posted to your personal website for non-commercial purposes.

I am under 18, can I enter the contest?

No, for legal reasons only people aged 18 or over can enter the contest. However, that doesn’t stop you joining the campaign on social media! Take a photo of an extraordinary tree near you and post it on your Twitter, Instagram or Flickr account with the hashtags #IntlForestDay. We’ll tweet some of the photos from @FAOForestry Twitter.

When and how will winners be notified?

Winners will be notified by email after 20 March 2018. The winners will be announced on this website and through FAO and other social media channels.

Is there an entry fee?

No, entering the contest is free of charge.

What are the legal conditions of entering the contest?

The legal conditions of the contest are available to download here
