联合国大会于2012年宣布3月21日为“国际森林日”。森林日举办庆祝活动，提高公众对所有类型森林重要性的认识。鼓励各国每年逢“国际森林日”，在地方、国家和国际层面举办森林和树木相关活动，如植树活动。每年“国际森林日”的主题均由森林合作伙伴关系选定。

Glen Tiondo from the Philippines won the children's category with his photo "Insect-eating plant”.
Youth: 15-24 years old
Miharisoa Salome Ratovo from Madagascar won the youth’s category with her photo “Camouflage, blend into the environment”.
Adults: 24 years old and above
Malalan Ny Aina Rakotondrazafy from Madagascar won the adults’ category with his photo of ‘The verreaux moon walker’.
