The importance of mountain communities in Nepal were emphasized at the UNFCCC COP 28 side event "Empowering Mountain Communities: Building Resilient Together" on 11 December 2023. Speakers shared the importance of engaging mountain communities and empowering them to build resilience in mountain ecosystems. The role of the Nepal government was also highlighted as a champion of the mountain agenda. Finally, the importance of fostering partnerships and joint initiatives was noted.
