13th Terra Madre Day
Terra Madre Day is Slow Food's annual day to promote the diversity of food traditions and production, and show how our network is using its creativity and knowledge to express love for the planet and defend the future for the next generations, Promotion of local food and culture, Food crisis in the face of climate change while building a better future through food.
From 9th to 11th December 2022, SFYN team from Africa will gather at BUGESERA District in Rwanda. The event intends to bring together 59 SFYN champions from Rwanda, DR Congo,Tanzania,Uganda and Kenya. The activities for the SFYN Terra madre includes;
● Food talks, traditional food taste and seed fair, as well as exchange of different
food cultures.
● A discussion on the role of youth in Biodiversity conservation for the future of
food security and sovereignty.
● Discussion on the link between climate change and food.
