MAFAP to attend the 10th CAADP Partnership Platform meeting in Durban

18 Mar 2014
From the 18-21 March 2014, the “All Africa Conference on Agriculture and Rural Development” will take place in Durban, South Africa.

The event, organized by the African Union (AU) and the NEPAD Agency, will bring together different stakeholders involved in the advancement of the agricultural transformation and rural development agenda: member states, political decision makers, Regional Economic Communities, farmers’ organizations, multilateral and bilateral donors, NGO’s etc.

The 10th CAADP Platform meeting is one of the major events lined up in 2014 as part of facilitating consultations and dialogue amongst agricultural stakeholders on the continent and beyond. The event comes at a critical moment when the Year 2014 was declared by the AU Assembly of Heads of State and Government, Year of Agriculture and Food Security in Africa, marking 10th Anniversary of the adoption of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP).

As part of the CAADP implementation process, the Monitoring and Analysing Food and Agricultural Policies (MAFAP) programme will make the lead presentation in a session proposed by the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) on macro trends & development as part of the Policy & Institutions work stream. The presentation will focus mainly on the results from the first phase of the MAFAP programme (see MAFAP Synthesis report).
