In a letter addressed to the Director-General, the Ambassador of Malaysia to FAO, on behalf of the Chair of the Asia Group, has announced the endorsement of the group to the candidature of José Graziano da Silva for a second term as Director General of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

The letter highlights that “FAO has transformed significantly, improving systems and practices to become a more result-based organization” since he took office in 2012 and, under his leadership, “FAO has increased its collaboration and technical assistance with member nations to improve global, regional and country level food security and agricultural systems”.
