Developing national atlases of African animal trypanosomosis

The course is designed to build data management capacities and to promote the development of national-level, spatially-explicit information systems on tsetse and African animal trypanosomosis (AAT). It has been developed by the Programme Against African Trypanosomosis (PAAT), and it is hosted by the Virtual Learning Centre (VLC) at the FAO sub-regional office for Southern Africa (SFS). The course was developed in collaboration with the European Commission for the control of Foot-and-Mouth Disease (EuFMD) of FAO, and in partnership with FAO South-South and Triangular Cooperation Division (PST).

Main target audience: national veterinary authorities, and in particular the specialized national structures in charge of AAT control. Other stakeholders involved in tsetse and trypanosomosis research and control at the international, national and local level can also benefit from the course.

Duration: 6 weeks from 7 April to 19 May, for a total of 24 hours of learning.
